Bring The Beat Back by The Cipher is a business and entrepreneurial skill development program for youth ages 14 to 29 that takes a holistic approach at music production and live performance experiences. The core focus of the project is to build participants' confidence as they seek professional development and employment opportunities as musicians and performers in their neighbourhood.

Behind The turntable

Our mentorship workshop focuses on the creativity, innovation and ingenuity of the Deejay as it relates to live and listening audiences locally, domestically and internationally. Our mentors will also discuss entrepreneurial endeavors in the deejay and audio visual fields.

The Show

Our workshop/mentorship series focuses on various production styles/equipment, home studio set-up, in studio preparation.  

STEp into the arena

Our in person live concert event matches up our up and coming youth artists with mentors from the music industry where they will gain practical experience in performance arts for their school and community.

Stressed out

Our mentorship workshop will focus on mindfulness, well-being, healthy eating with resources and supports to deal with various issues including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma and diet.

Our mentorship workshop focuses on various styles of music production and preparation for in studio recording.

The Booth

Our mentorship workshop focuses strategies and live recording within the confines of a studio. Our production mentors will empower our youth to tap into their creativity while composing music. Our youth will also learn the importance vocal recording, mixing and mastering an album.

This mentorship workshop will focus on enhancing business acumen including detailed discussions on business fundamentals for youth interested in starting, maintaining and growing a small business.

The Art of Story Telling

This mentorship workshop will focus the importance using Art, Culture and Music to tell stories about the strength of our African Diaspora.

A Million While You Young

Our workshop/mentorship series will focus on the Fundamentals of money and the effects financial discipline has on budgeting, debt, savings, credit and investment.

Our mentorship workshop will focus on Employment strategies and templates including job searching, interview skills and resume building to ensure sustainable employment. We will also deep dive into the importance of Fashion as a business and how attire can effect various employment opportunities.

Dis generation

A celebration of our youth, arts and culture where mentors come together to support and empower our youth. This event will enable our youth to tap into business professionals and artistic mentors live and in person for insight and knowledge.
